I believe positive childhood experiences shape the rest of our lives. That belief is why I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and why most of my work is with children and their families. I also see adults for one-on-one therapy.
I came to therapy through early childhood education, and I have extensive experience working with children. I've also worked with people with developmental disabilities and with trauma survivors. I'm currently enrolled in a certificate program specializing in children and adolescents.
When I work with a child, I work with the family too. Together we focus on emotional regulation, communication, and family dynamics, along with concerns like ADHD, autism, anxiety, and parenting challenges. I use cognitive behavioral strategies adapted for children, family-focused interventions, and art-based activities with younger kids. You can read more about how child therapy works at Satva.
I also work one-on-one with adults. With clients of every age, I help with depression, trauma and PTSD, grief, stress, self-esteem, relationship issues, life transitions, and cultural and identity issues.
My approach is client-centered. I believe each person has unique strengths and the capacity for growth. I work with you to understand your goals and tailor therapy to your needs, drawing on evidence-based approaches and adapting them to what works best for you or your child. Sessions are a place to explore concerns, develop new skills, and build stronger connections.
My love of psychotherapy started with my own therapist when I was a child. For those 50 minutes each week I felt safe and understood, a feeling I didn't find anywhere else in my life. That shapes how I work: I truly believe people need to feel understood and safe in a nonjudgmental environment.
I'm a caring, sincere, and authentic person, and I enjoy spending my free time with my children and my dog. I meet with clients over telehealth across California, so you or your child can do this work from somewhere familiar. Whatever brings you here, I'll work alongside you as you heal and grow.
